On A Friday: One Year of One Cuckoo

Today marks the first birthday of One Cuckoo Short of a Nest, and to celebrate the milestone this article will look back at how OCSN has changed over the past year.

A (not very) brief history of One Cuckoo Short of a Nest:

• January 2009 (from the 15th):
  OCSN starts as an IT website focussing on the then new beta release of Windows 7.
  One of few essays published.
  First news article published consisting of information sourced from a variety of other news networks.
• February 2009:
  Nothing published.
• March 2009:
  First On A Friday article looking at ridiculous aerodynamics in the history of F1. First how to.
• April 2009:
  One article only – On A Friday: Find Your Blind Spot (interactive flash presentation).
• May 2009:
  Nothing published.
• June 2009:
  First news article with original research. This looked at Microsoft’s then new search engine “bing”.
  Notable On A Friday: Pacman ate my Homework.
• July 2009:
  One article only – Windows 7: “1 Days Left”.
• August 2009:
  First three instalments of The Development of the CPRS.
• September 2009:
  More of everything.

• October 2009:
  First cartoon - Trick or Treat (5% Confidence).

• November 2009:
  Largest number of posts from any month of 2009 - 17 posts.
  Independent domain name registered – www.onecuckoosnest.com. (No longer a .blogspot address.)

  Extensive coverage of the Liberal Party’s leadership issues.

• December 2009:
  First statement made to One Cuckoo for a news article. A media representative from Australia Post talked to OCSN for the article Australia Post Denied Postage Price Increase as Workers Plan Industrial Action.

• January 2009 (so far):
  First statement to One Cuckoo from a minister’s office: Stephen Conroy’s office talked to OCSN about the proposed satellite free-to-air digital television system.
  First statement from a shadow minister’s office: Tony Smith’s office talked to OCSN for an article on the above topic.
  Notable On A Friday: Lipstick on a Pig (Cartoon)
  This self promoting badly written post!
